February 22nd 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardiit, is set to kick off the long-awaited regional tour to the country’s Bahr Al-Ghazal region.
Early this month, officials close to the presidency said Kiir will tour the region to convey to the people the signing of the revitalized peace agreement.
The same tour will also take place in the remaining two region of Upper Nile and Equatoria.
The government and opposition groups in September last year signed in Addis Ababa a revitalized version of a 2015 peace agreement to end the ongoing five-year old conflict.
Speaking during a press conference held at the state house on Friday, the Minister in the Office of the President, Mayik Ayii Deng, said the President will start the tour on Tuesday, February 26th 2019.
The regional tour will state from “Terekeka state and will end at Lol” according to Minister Ayii.
