August 5th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan president Salva Kiir Mayardiit, will form the Reconstituted Transitional Government of National Unity (TGONU) on November 2, source close to the presidency said Monday.

The source said Kiir is planning to go ahead with the formation of the revitalized unity government even if prominent opposition and SPLM-IO leader Dr. Riek Machar would not have returned to Juba by November.

The president is forming the government on 2 of November 2019,” the source said.

Even if [First Vice-President designate] Riek Machar is not here, he will form the government because the nation can’t wait for another period of time again,” the source added.

In May, South Sudan parties in Addis Ababa agreed to extend the pre-transitional period which was supposed to end on May 12 for the formation of the government to take place.

There was an agreed conclusion by the parties that pre-transitional activities needed between the government is formed were not in place.
