Kiir tells Malong, Cirilo to accept peaceful end of war

May 23rd 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardiit has appealed to General Paul Malong Awan and General Thomas Cirilo to accept peaceful ending of the country’s ongoing brutal civil war.

Malong, a former army chief who fall out with President Kiir in 2017 is the leader of South Sudan United Front (SSUF) while Cirilo is the leader of the holdout opposition National Salvation Front or NAS.

Kiir during his opening remarks at the meeting of the SPLM Political Bureau meeting in Juba on Wednesday urg d the two men along with Oyai Deng Ajak to join peace.

“I can’t end these opening remarks without equally appealing to our brothers who are still holding out, Cde Paul Malong, Cde Thomas Cyrillo, Cde Oyai Deng Ajak and others to come and join us on this journey of reuniting the SPLM and reconciling the people of South Sudan,” Kiir said.
