February 20th 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s president Salva Kiir Mayardit says opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny will be appointed this evening and will resume his duties tomorrow.
Kiir made the remark during a press conference he held at the state house following a meeting with Machar this afternoon in Juba.
Kiir and Machar signed a peace deal in September 2018 to end the deadly six-year-old war civil.
The peace deal guarantee the return of Machar to the position of the first vice president which he held prior to the collapse of a 2015 peace agreement.
