Kiir says he is not aware people left the country for refugee camps

March 3rd 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardiit said on Thursday that he was not aware people of South Sudan have left the country to seek for safety in the neighboring countries.

President Kiir made this remarks during a rally in the Lakes State capital Rumbek on Thursday while on his tour to the region of Bahr Al-Ghazal.

“I’m not aware that all the citizens have left the country for refugee camps. I never knew that I will one find find that there is no one in Rumbek,” Kiir said.

Early, President Kiir said ministers had lied to him about the development of road and told a crowd in Yirol that he has now seen what has been ongoing during the  seven years of independence.

“I traveled by road to interact with people and see what has been going on. The ministers deceived me about road construction,” he said adding: “Now I have seen how bad the road are, I spend many hours to reach each the state.”
