Kiir offered financial contribution to the orphans whose parents died last week, called for solidarity.

November 12,2021—South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit has donated thousands of United States Dollars to three children who survived fatal death last week after the accident claimed lives of their parents along the Juba-Nimule highway.

This comes after many people especially social media activists asked the public to donate whatever little they have for the little survivors.

On Saturday, Dr. Gabriel Thor Koryom and his family where driving towards Uganda on the Juba-Nimule highway when they were involved in an accident killing all, but the three kids, in the car.

In a statement obtained by Nyamilepedia, President Kiir donates 50,000 US dollars and urge the people of South Sudan to add little to kids to support their education and their other necessities.

“It is with profound sadness that I express my deep sympathies to the family of Gabriel Thor Koryom who lost his life along with his two wives and nine children on a tragic road accident on Juba-Nimule Road,” President Kiir said in a statement obtained by Nyamilepedia.

“…In order to secure the future [of] these orphans, I am personally contributing $50,000 United States dollars as the seed funds for their education and urge the people of good will both inside the country and in Diaspora to add to this fund”, Kiir said.

He urges the people of South Sudan to provide a moral and emotional support to relatives of the victims and to three kids in particular.

“Given the enormity of this tragedy, I am calling upon South Sudanese across the globe to stand in solidarity with this family and their relatives, specifically the three children who survived this heartbreaking accident. Let us all provide these children with emotional and material support,” the statement explains.

According to the President, his office will work with the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Transport to find ways of ensuring that accidents of this nature are prevented.”

“As we mourn the tragedy that has befallen this family, let us stand in solidarity with their relatives and the entire Mayom community and pray that God will give them inner strengthen to help them cope with this tragedy.”Kiir office said.
