Kiir, Machar will soon resolve dispute over Olony – spokesman

August 15, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit and main armed opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny who is also the country’s First Vice President will soon resolve the dispute over the governorship of Upper Nile state, a spokesman for the FVP said.

James Gatdet Dak said in a statement seen by Nyamilepedia that the parties to the revitalized peace agreement have agreed almost on all the pending issues regarding the formation of the state governments.

Gatdet said, “the Parties are working on the allocation to each Party, by name in each State, all the Deputy Governorships, Ministries, Advisors, Committees, Commissions, Counties, etc, that require naming.”

“As for the Governor of Upper Nile State, the matter will be resolved soon, hopefully.”
