October 1st 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit and main armed opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny has been urged to solve the boundary problem during a face-to-face meeting set to take place in Juba next week.

The two men in 2018 signed a revitalized version of a 2015 peace agreement in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa to end the war following several meetings in the Sudanese capital Khartoum between June and August 2018.

The two, according to the agreement, will lead a unity government of thirty-six months as president and first vice-president.

Speaking during a forum to support the peace implementation in Juba on Monday, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General and head of UN mission in South Sudan David Shearer said there is need for Kiir and Machar to sit down to solve the border dispute.

In resolving this issue, it’s going to need President Salva Kiir sitting down with Dr. Riek Machar in another face to face meeting,” Shearer said.

So, we are very much hopeful that the face to face meeting that happened two weeks ago is going to be repeated over and over,” he added.
