October 19th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit and opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar have met this evening and decided to meet – tomorrow morning – with leaders of security committees, opposition official said.
Machar arrived with a huge delegation this afternoon to the capital Juba ahead of a meeting with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Sunday afternoon .
“Yes they (Kiir and Machar) have met and decided to convene a meeting with leaders of security committees of the prey transitional committee,” Puok Both Baluang, the SPLM-IO director of information told the Nyamilepedia this evening.
Information minister and government spokesman Michael Makuei said early that the two leaders would meet with leaders of security organs within the National Pre-Transitional Committee (NPTC) tomorrow morning.
“They have called the leadership of the security organs, the Joint Defence Board and the rest, to brief them tomorrow morning so that they can discuss issues from an informed position,” Makuei said.
“The command of the forces is expected to come tomorrow at 9:00 am, to brief them on the progress made in the peace agreement, specially the security arrangements,” he added.
