February 4th 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s president Salva Kiir Mayardit and main armed opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny will meet in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa next week, a senior opposition official said.
Machar planned to go to Juba this afternoon, but his aides said the meeting had been cancelled by the regional body IGAD saying the two men will meet in Addis Ababa.
Puok Both Baluang, the SPLM-IO director of information and public relations said the two men will meet next week.
“The Chairman and Commander in Chief Dr. Riek Machar Teny will travel to Addis Ababa and will meet with President Salva Kiir Mayardit there to discuss the formation of the revitalized government,” the told Nyamilepedia from the Sudanese capital Khartoum.
“The meeting will be convened by C5 and will be attended by the two principals and it is where they will decide on the way forward on the pending issues and particularly the number and boundaries of states,” the opposition official further added.
