January 14th 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – The meeting of South Sudan president Salva Kiir Mayardit and opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny has been adjourned to Wednesday, senior government and opposition officials said.
Kiir and Machar met briefly at the state house J1 and details of their meeting have not been made public.
Machar arrived to Juba from the Sudanese capital Khartoum this afternoon along with deputy leader of Sudan’s sovereignty council Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo.
“The meeting of the two principals have not been adjourned to Wednesday,” a government official told the Nyamilepedia from Juba.
A government official for his part confirmed the adjournment saying “the meeting has been adjourned and there was progress between the two men.”
