Kiir invites Egyptian Al-Sisi to visit South Sudan

January 17th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President,  Salva Kiir Mayardiit, who is in the Egyptian capital Cairo for a three-day state visit has invited his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi to visit the war-ravaged country.

President Kiir, accompanied by his defense minister,  Kuol Manyang Juk, Presidential Advisor on Security, Tutkew Gatluak, is currently in the Egyptian capital Cairo for a three-day state visit.

Talks between the two sides are expected to cover bilateral relations and the latest developments in South Sudan as well as efforts aiming to bring about peace and stability.

President Kiir also thanked the Egyptian government and the people of Egypt for the “wonderful reception and welcome” saying it is a “great honor” to be in Cairo for the first time since the beginning of the year.

For his part, President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi welcomed the official invitation from his South Sudanese counterpart to visit South Sudan, expressing the keenness on the stability and security of South Sudan.

The president stressed the importance of boosting relations and strategic partnership between the two countries to make use of economic cooperation and investments available in the two countries.
