Juba, South Sudan
November 2,2021—South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir has issued a republican decree on Monday evening firing the First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, John Deng Wal, just after serving a few months.
In a separate decree read on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation(SSBC) , the president appointed the second Undersecretary in the Ministry of Finance, Ujang James Karlo as the new First Undersecretary and gave no justification either.
President Kiir also moved on to appoint Angelo Deng Rehan as the new Second Undersecretary in the Finance Ministry replacing Ujang James Karlo, leaving no little hope of return to the outgoing First Undersecretary.
Angelo Deng Rehan served as the Director of Budgeting at the Finance ministry prior to his appointment this evening.
Kiir did not provide any reasons for his abrupt decisions; however, the outgoing First Undersecretary, who has served only six months, is expected to issue his appreciation any minute from now for the trust bestowed upon to serve the nation in such a lucrative position.
