June 10, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit has fired the undersecretary in the country’s ministry of health Makur Matur Koryom.
According to a presidential decree read out on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC), Kiir removed the Makur and replaced him – in a separate decree – with Mayen Machut Machiek.
The decree did not mention why he was removed.
Makur’s sacking comes a few days after an internal disagreement with the minister of health, Elizabeth Acuei after the later wrote a letter to President Salva Kiir Mayardit raising complaint of the misuse of $30,000 dollar.
The money was supposed to be used by the ministry of health in its fight against the coronavirus.
