August 2nd 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardiit has delayed – under unclear circumstances – planned visit to Ethiopian capital Addis doxycycline-buy.com Ababa.
He was expected to meet Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed in Addis Ababa where the two would have discussed bilateral relations and regional support for the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement signed in September last year.
While reports suggest that the South Sudanese head of state delayed the visit to protest a plan by regional leaders for a face-to-face meeting between him and SPLM-IO leader Dr. Riek Machar, Kiir’s office has not issued any official statement why the president is not in Addis Ababa where he was expected – according to his aides – on Wednesday.
Although Presidential Press Secretary Ateny Wek Ateny did not reply to an email inquiring why the president delayed the trip, there are reports that Kiir is not happy about a push by regional leaders including the Ethiopian premier for a face-to-face meeting between him and Machar.
Just last week, Ateny told Nyamilepedia that the president will not meet Machar on any issue regarding the peace process outside the country.
He said after the signing of the agreement, all matters regarding the agreement should be discussed in the country pointing to improved security environment for opposition leaders in Juba.
