August 6th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardiit, on Sunday complained of financial barriers to the implementation of the peace agreement he signed a while early with his arch-rival, Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon.

On Sunday, South Sudan parties namely the government, the SPLM-IO, the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA), the SPLM Former Political Detainees and other political entities signed the long-awaited deal in the Sudanese capital Khartoum.

Addressing the ceremony after signing the agreement at Qa’aa Al-Sadaka or the Friendship Hall in the Sudanese capital Khartoum, President Kiir said the agreement is so difficult to maintain financially given  the huge size of the parliament and the presidency that is made up of the President and five deputies.

“The agreement is difficult to be sustained financially, looking at the size of the parliament and the five vice presidents,” Kiir said.

He further said his government has no means to provide the needed accommodations in terms of offices, and mobility saying everyone would come asking for 5-10 vehicles and from certain marks.

“From where I can provide it,” he said.

For his part, the Sudanese President Omar Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir assured Kiir of his support and that of his government in the implementation of the agreement and he would be there for South Sudan whenever he is needed.
