February 26th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardiit, has arrived in Eastern Lakes state’s capital Yirol as part of a regional tour to the country’s Bahr Al-Ghazal region.
South Sudan Presidency said last week that the President will started the tour on February 26th and will start at Terekeka state in the Equatoria region and end at Lol state in the Bahr Al-Ghazal region.
The President who is also expected to tour the remaining two regions of Upper Nile and the Equatoria is expected to enlighten the people of South Sudan during the tour about the revitalized peace agreement he signed with rebel groups in September last year.
In a brief statement on his social media page, Puorchien Matueny Makeny, the official spokesman for the Eastern Lakes State governor, said President Salva “Kiir Mayardit arrived in Mingkaman, ELS (Eastern Lakes State)’s Yirol” for peace rally.
Kiir was received upon arrival by the Eastern Lakes State governor Gen. Mangar Buong Upon arrival. He is expected to deliver a peace message to the residents of Yirol this afternoon.
