November 12th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit has apologized for what he said in an unwanted war in the country.
The president made the remarks during a prayer conducted at his office J1 this afternoon by Nigerian pastor and self-proclaimed prophet TB Joshua who arrived in the country this morning upon his invitation to pray for peace and reconciliation.
“I apologizes to my people for the unwanted war though it was imposed on us,” Kiir said.
“Now, that we will begin a new year, I am asking anyone to forgive and I will forgive too so that the country move forward as we are opening a new page,” he added.
It is not the first time for the South Sudanese leader to apologize. In December 2016, Kiir apologized for “past mistakes” and called for forgiveness to forge unity between the country’s bitter tribes.
“In the spirit of national unity, forgiveness and dialogue, I am asking you, the people of South Sudan, to forgive me for any mistakes I might have committed. This is a spirit that our country needs and we must act now,” Kiir said while addressing a session of the country’s Parliament at the time.
