Khartoum court acquit suspects accused of attacking Lam Akol’s house last month

February 22nf 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – A Khartoum court has set free four suspects accused of attacking the house of opposition leader Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin in the Sudanese capital last month.

In early January, the four men were arrested after they were accused of attacking the house of Dr. Lam Akol in Khartoum and we’re since kept in jail pending judicial process.

The court said the suspects were released due to lack of evidence.

Lam Akol is the leader of the National Democratic Movement (NDM) fighting the government of President Salva Kiir.

His group is a party to the ongoing peace implementation that was signed in September in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa by the South Sudan government and opposition groups.
