Oct 17, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — Kenya’s Narok county governor, Samuel Tunai and three others survived a tragic chopper crash today at Eldamat, Narok County.
The governor, who was accompanied by three others, just left the funeral of Mzee Tombo Ole Sasai at Olenkipejus village in Melili, Narok County, when the crash occurred.
The three other occupants of the chopper, Narok East Mp Ken Kiloku and two others, sustained minor injuries and were rushed to Narok County Referral Hospital in a Red Cross ambulance.
According to the eyewitnesses, the aircraft developed mechanical issues and had difficulties flying.
“After taking off for the fifth time, it crash landed after a 100m distance,” the witness said.
Area MCA Moses Ole Samante told a local newspaper that the governor is out of danger and that people should not worry.
Reached on phone by the Nation, Governor Tunai said he was in a good condition and that he was being taken to Nairobi for further medical checks.
Details surrounding what led to the chopper remains unclear.
The accident attracted a huge crowd as area residents tried to catch a glimpse of the aircraft.
The funeral that governor Tunai attended was for the father to late Narok Finance County Executive Committee (CEC) who also served in Governor Tunai’s Cabinet.
