The health cabinet secretary Mutahi Kagwe went on to announce 296 recoveries. 268 of these recoveries were from hospitals while 28 came from home based care.

Three more patients succumbed to the virus bringing the total of deaths to 622.

Mombasa county was leading with the highest number with 43 cases of new infections. Most counties recorded one patients.

The ministry has been insisting that the fall in the number of new confirmed cases may not necessarily mean that the country is winning against the virus. It has said that the government capability to test a large sample size could be the reason. It has called on the Kenyans to continue observing the covid 19 guidelines to avoid a surge in the spread of the virus.

Even with this warnings, politicians have been holding meeting and rallies right left and centre that are attended by huge crowds.

Today, deputy president Wolliam Ruto held a meeting in Kitengela town that was attended by thousands of people. Looking closely, most of these people did not observe the guidelines as advised by the ministry like social distancing and wearing of masks.

President Kenyatta, opposition leader Raila odinga, county governors and other political leaders have been holding these rallies even as they are expected to lead by example.
