September 8,2021—The leadership of Jagei Community Association in Juba under the leadership of Mr. Malual Tap Dieu met the First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
The community delegation. which was led by the chairman, briefed the first vice president on the unfolding challenges affecting people in Jagei and especially floods that have engulfed most parts of Jagei areas and displaced many vulnerable people.
In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia, Mr. Malual Tap Dieu, the Chairman of Jagei community in Juba says the country’s first vice president is very aware of natural disaster affecting the civil population in the oil producing county of Koch and other part of Southern Unity State and said he invited the humanitarian agencies to rescue the flood affected populations.
“The FVP assured the leadership of Jagei community that the country’s leadership is fully informed about the natural calamity that is terrorizing our people and has already taken a crucial step by inviting all the humanitarian agencies to help alleviate the suffering of the people of South Sudan in the mostly affected areas and more especially Koch area of Jagei Community “,Jagei Chairman stated on his Facebook.
According to Tap, the meeting served as an opportunity for his leadership to convey sincere thanks and appreciation to the First Vice President Dr. Machar for his willingness to implement the peace agreement in text and spirit.
Koch County is the administrative district inhabited by Jagei Nuer in central part of Unity State but despite the fact that the county is the most oil producing area in Unity State, its local population decry not benefiting from the oil production but said they are shouldering environmental pollution and its aftermath.
