September 27th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – The integration process for the forces loyal to the incumbent First Vice President,  Taban Deng Gai, has started in Unity State, a spokesman for the FVP’s forces have said.

South Sudan’s First Vice President Taban Deng Gai in July 2016 defected from Machar’s SPLM-IO and formed a faction allied to South Sudan’s government claiming removal of Machar as the SPLM-IO leader.

He was joined by some troops who were previously loyal to Machar as well as some generals.

In an exclusive interview with the Nyamilepedia on Wednesday,  Col. Dickson Gatluak Jock, spokesman of the FVP forces said the integration process has started and is ongoing in Unity state.

“The integration process is on going in unity region,” Gatluak said adding that “We are done with Tomor in Mayom County, Tong in Rubkona and Koch.”

He said the next step is for them to integrate the forces loyal to Taban Deng Gai and who are stationed in Greater Leer which he said are assembled in Rubkuai.

“We are now in the process of integrating the SPLA IO fighters in Greater Leer who are now being assembled in Rupkuai Payam of Mayiandit County,” he said.

“The committee are working there and after finishing they will come to Guit County,” Gatluak added.
