January 22, 2022—South Sudan’s Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hon. Manawa Peter Gatkuoth has traveled toTanzanian capital, Dar El-Salam on Tuesday morning 17 January, 2022.
In a statement by ministry’s Press Unit, Hon. Manawa Peter made it to Dar-es Salaam upon invitation extended to him by the Chief Executive Officer of Dar-es-Salaam Water and Sewage Authority (DAWASA), Cyprian Luhemeja to discuss issues to do with water Cooperation.
Hon. Minister had a field visit to the Water treatment plant and Water Stations at DAWASA Head Quarters and other places within Dar El Salam.
“Hon. Manawa Peter went to inspect DAWASA Head Quarters and had a field visit to the water treatment plant and water stations in their respective zones in Dar El-Salam”, the statement reads.
According to the statement by Press Unit, Hon. Minister spent three days in Tanzania and he was accompanied to the DAWASA meeting by staffs working at the Ministry.
“He describes their meeting with Management of DAWASA in Dar El-Salam as cordial and extraordinary session and believes that it would enhance Water Cooperation”,the statement added.
Hon. Gatkuoth is also reportedly to fly to Entebbe, Uganda to take part in IGAD Grand Water Conference which is expected to take place from 25th up to 27th of January 2022.
