March 7, 2022 — South Sudan’s Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hon. Manawa Peter Gatkuoth, has traveled to Arab Republic of Egypt to discuss issues to do with Water Cooperation with his Egyptian Counterpart, Dr. Mohamad Abdel Aty, his Press Secretary Gattiek Wichar announced.
Speaking to Nyamilepedia this morning, Gattiek Wichar, the Press Secretary of Hon. Manawa Peter, said Minister Gatkuoth traveled to Cairo last Friday and met with his counterpart, Dr. Mohamad Abdel Aty, Egypt’s Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation on Sunday.

“.. This comes less than a week after Hon. Minister Gatkuoth left Juba for Cairo on Friday following the official invitation extended to him on 21st of February 2022 by his Egyptian counterpart Dr. Mohamad Abdel Aty” Mr. Wichar told Nyamilepedia this morning.
Wichar said the duo had a fruitful follow-up meeting on projects signed by the two sisterly countries in the field of Water Resources Management.
“.. Yesterday Hon. Gatkuoth and his Egyptian counterpart held a successful follow-up discussions on the progress of the ongoing projects between two friendly countries in the field of Water Resources Management”, Wichar added.
According to Wichar, the meeting was attended by senior technical staff working at the Egyptian Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and the accompanying delegation of Hon. Gatkuoth.
Last month, Hon. Manawa Peter Gatkuoth toured many east African countries and visited Republic of South Africa as well, a move his Press Secretary described as “an exploration of different experiments in the field of Water Resources” with hopes to adopt such experiments in the country.
