March 15th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The leader of the holdout opposition group, People’s Democratic Movement (PDM), Dr. Hakim Dario, said on Wednesday that it regrets what he said was a selective conduct of consultations with holdout groups by IGAD Special Envoy for South Sudan, Ismail Wais.
This week, the IGAD Special Envoy met Malong in the Kenyan capital Nairobi and Malong decided to accept the participation in the ongoing peace process while Cirilo who met him last week in Addis Ababa reiterated his demand for the reopening of the agreement for renegotiation.
In a letter sent to Wais on Wednesday, the PDM leader said they were disappointed because of the selective consultations which only focused with armed opposition groups.
“The selective consultations with NAS, SSUF/A and Oyai Deng is seemingly because they are all military generals with the potential to use armed means if not already doing so as in the case of NAS against Government aggression on their positions in Yei,” Dario said in the letter extended to the Nyamilepedia.
He said what he calls “discrimimatory” selection of who to consult with is inconsistent with IGAD directives which tasked the special envoy to engage non-signatories of the agreement including PDM.
“The partiality of your office is regrettable and is grossly unfair and inconsistent with IGAD’s directives to your office,”  he added.
