October 27, 2021—Sudan’s deposed Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok has been released from detention and is now being guarded by heavy security apparatus at his residence.
Gen. Al-Burhan, who spearheaded the coup d’etat told media that Hamdok was locked up for his own safety but said the other officers who are still in detention will answer some charges for their alleged incitement of rebellion within the Sudanese Armed forces adding that those who will be found innocent shall be released.
According to Al-Burhan, Hamdok and his wife are now free human beings but the security organs will closely monitor their activities.
Yesterday morning Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan said he was together with Abdallah Hamdok at his home assuring the public that nothing would harm him as he is heavily guarded by national security.
Prime Minister Hamdok was overthrown on Monday, 25th of October 2021 by military component but despite all these developments some of the political forces in Sudan clarified their position saying the military coup will just add fuel on fire and as such they won’t recognize it whatsoever.
Justice and Equality movement under the deposed Finance Minister, Gibriel Ibrahim said he is supporting the military coup but called on immediate release of the detained politicians.
