March 21st 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan government said on Thursday that it will hire new apartments for opposition peace delegates who are currently in Juba until the formation of the unity government in May or beyond.
Members of opposition delegates from the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) and South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) said last week that they were briefly locked out of their hotel rooms in Juba over failure by NPTC to pay the hotel expense.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday in Juba following an extraordinary cabinet meeting, information minister, Michael Makuei Lueth, said the government was supposed to hire apartments for the opposition delegates rather than accommodating them in expensive hotels.
“In fact all the members of the committees that came from outside the government, we are supposed to hire apartments and accommodate them there, instead of taking them to the hotels,” Makuei told reporters.
Makuei who was not sure when exactly the unity government would be formed said the government will soon hire apartment for the opposition delegates soon in order to accommodate them until the formation of the unity government.
“All these people will be transferred to apartment or houses that will be hired and furnished by the government for that short period up to the time when R-TGoNU is established and everybody will find his way,” Makuei said.
