Speaking to the media after meeting Dr. Machar, who oversees the governance cluster, Lojore explains that he addressed three major issues that include the problem of Jonglei State IDPs in Magwi County, unassembled SPLA-IO forces in Elemi Triangle area and the issue of formation of the state and local governments.

“I just finished meeting his excellency, the First Vice President, the Vice President who is in charge of governance.” Governor Lojore said.

“I came to brief him on the situation of Eastern Equatoria and I briefed him on three main issues: one was the tension between the host communities in Greater Magwi and the displaced person from the Jonglei State who had to come running because of the flooding together with their cattle” Lojore said.

Lojore believes that the government, particularly governance cluster, can intervene and help address the issues affecting these communities, and give assurances on how soon these IDPs can be repatriated to their Jonglei state.

“I explained to him the tensions, and that there is a need for the national government to intervene or maybe to address the problems of these people back home and also come to assist in trying to give a limited time for them so that these people can be repatriated back after the flooding.” Governor Lojore said.

Larjore also called on Dr. Machar to work on finalizing the state and local governments, stressing the need for local authorities to take up their duties and help in providing services to the citizens.

The governor of Eastern Equatoria State also appealled to Dr. Machar to assemble his IO troops at South Sudan-Ethiopia border for cantonment and training.

“The third was the presence of IO forces at the border, particularly at the border with Ethiopia, the area of Elemi Triangle.” He said.

“I thought these people could be brought in and go for cantonment and training so that we know who is here because there are other forces who are not signatories to the peace” Lojore concludes.
