July 11th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan government under the leadership of President Salva Kiir Mayardiit, who has been fighting a number of opposition groups since December 2013, has criticized the other opposition parties for rejecting the Entebbe proposal and threatened to go for the implementation of the proposed deal even in the absence of the opposition groups.

Michael Makuei Lueth, the South Sudan Minister of Information and government spokesman, said the argument of the opposition that they will not accept the Entebbe deal is unacceptable to the government.

“The fact that some of them [other oppositions] came here and they have now decided to renege and say that they will not recognize or they don’t accept, that is not true; this is not acceptable,” said Michael Makuei, the Minister of Information.

Makuei was speaking to reporters in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum when he said that the ongoing peace process can be implemented with or without the opposition groups who rejected the Entebbe proposal.

“The government can implement the agreement alone. If they do not want to be a part of peace proposal, no problem the government can also implement the peace either with them or without them,” Makuei further said.
