July 07, 2021 – The government of South Sudan has appointed new education attaches to seven countries in the latest development at the country’s diplomatic missions abroad.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation directed in a statement that South Sudan’s diplomatic missions in countries where attaches will be working should prepare to welcome the new recruits.
“The leadership of the Ministry is informing that the Ministry of Higher of Higher Education, Science and Technology has deployed educational attaches to various Embassies/Missions as indicated in the attached list,” Amb. Samuel Luate Lominsuk, Acting Undersecretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The new appointees include Mr. Chan Reath who was appointed the Deputy Educational Attache in Egypt, Mrs. Veronica Vita Mayen who represents students at the diplomatic level in Rabat, Morocco, assisted by Gatluak Riek Luak.
Other educational attaches also include Kun Puok Riek, appointed Deputy Educational Attache in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as Niveen John Bol takes the position of Deputy Education Attache in Kampala, Uganda.
Mrs. Mary Peter Kuey will be the Deputy Educational Attache in the Kenyan capital Nairobi while Mr. Taydor Peter Chuol will be working as Education Attache in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe.
In Beijing, China, Mr. Chuol Gordon Duol was deployed as the Deputy Educational Attache.
“The Ministry [of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation] is requesting all respective Embassies/Missions to make their arrangements and necessities to welcome them at missions,” Luate said in the statement.
Education Attaches are tasked with enhancing cooperation in education, research, science, and technology between South Sudan and the foreign country.
