July 26th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) –Â The South Sudan United Movement (SSUM) under the leadership of the former SPLA-IO deputy chief of staff for operation Gen. Peter Gatdet Yak Majiek has disagreed with some parties of the South Sudan opposition Alliance after they refused to initial the power sharing agreement in Khartoum on Tuesday.
Gatdet reportedly disagreed with the rest of the SSOA signatories and decided to sign the preliminary deal which was also signed by the government, the SPLM-IO, and members of the other political parties under national agenda accusing his colleagues from the SSOA of wanting to prolong the war.
“The Chairman and Commander in Chief Gen. Peter Gatdet Yaka has decided to sign the agreement with other parties. He believe that some within the South Sudan Opposition Alliance want a very big reward which they will not get and which will not end the war,” one official from the South Sudan Opposition Alliance told the Nyamilepedia on the condition of anonymity.
The official said however that they are still a part of the Alliance and the mandate of the Alliance was to negotiate and product peace with the government of Salva Kiir Mayardiit.
