October 7th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Members of Nuer’s Gajaak community working in the government of President Salva Kiir Mayardit have conducted a reconciliation meeting in the capital Juba to trash away internal differences, a state minister for Maiwut said in a statement Monday.
Duop Abshiry, the Maiwut state minister of education said in a brief statement on his Facebook page that the important meeting was organized by South Sudan’s First Vice-President Taban Deng Gai and former minister of petroleum Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth.
“Gajaak leaders in the government of the Republic of South Sudan came together and reconciled their differences to promote peace and stability in Maiwut State and beyond,” Duop wrote this afternoon.
He was thankful to South Sudan’s first vice-president and ex-oil minister “for their initiative and efforts that brought all to the table.”
