Juba, South Sudan,

May 3, 2021 – Maj. General Stephen Buay Rolnyang, a former SSPDF officer, who was demoted to private by president Kiir, has declared his allegiance to Gen. Paul Malong Awan, the former Chief of Staff of the SPLA who is now commanding rebellion from Nairobi, Kenya.

In a statement extended to Nyamilepedia, Gen. Buay Rolnyang calls on the SSPDF to either assemble at the countryside and declare their allegiance to SSUF/A under Gen. Malong or evacuate assembly areas that are likely to be attacked by the SSUF/A forces.

“With this, I urge the SSPDF forces wherever they are to challenge the regime of President Kiir and all the forces to evacuate the towns and assembly in the country side and report their readiness to the leadership of General Paul Malong Awan so that we make a regime change in our country,” Gen. Stephen Buay said in his recent statements.

General Buay calls on his loyalists to wait for directives, saying that they can only fight when they are attacked at the moment.

“Do not attack any town till further directives from this end, but defend yourselves when come under attack by the forces loyal to President Kiir,” He continued.

Buay, a fierce fighter, who commanded military police and battalions in Upper Nile State and Unity State during the recent civil-war, calls on all international organizations in the oil fields to evacuate the areas with immediate effect or within seven days.

“I warn all the international and national oil workers to evacuate Unity and Tharjiath oil fields within 7 days’ time or otherwise,” Buay said.

Gen. Paul was arrested and charged for treasons in 2018; however, he was later released after spending more than one year in prison due to lack of supporting evidence.
