September 12th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s former minister of labour and public service Gathoth Gatkuoth Hothnyang has vowed not to reconcile with the country’s First Vice President Taban Deng Gai citing his deliberate actions in targeting him.
Gathoth was South Sudan’s Labor minister until his dismissal by President Kiir in early August after FVP Taban Deng requested so.
In an exclusive interview with the Nyamilepedia on Wednesday, the former Labor Minister says he has a lot of problems with Taban Deng and he has not reconciled with him vowing not to reconcile with him.
“These are my problems with Taban. We have not reconciled and we will never reconcile because he is doing them intentionally,” he said.
He said said Taban replaced him with James Hoth Mai who is not a member of the SPLM-IO (TB) saying this has anger many other members.
“He replaced me with Gen. James Hoth Mai, and Hoth is a member of the SPLM-IG they are not part of us. He (Mai) is not a part of the SPLM-IO (TB) and so there is not reason for Taban to bring him to power at the expense of the SPLM-IO (TB),” He told the Nyamilepedia.
The former minister urged Taban to step down citing failures he said Taban and his leadership witnessed during the last two years.
