August 3, 2021.—Â Former governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, Kuel Aguek Kuel has been arrested by South Sudan National Security Service (NSS).
According to the information received by Nyamilepedia, a leading member of the People’s Coalition for Civil Action (PCCA) says the authorities in Juba are cracking down on their members in the capital, Juba.
Edward Andrew Achiek, a PCCA representative from the South Sudanese diaspora confirmed to media that the Former Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State Kuel Aguer Kuel was arrested this morning by the National Security Service (NSS).
The senior officials signed a 12-page declaration issued by the PCCA on Friday as a representative of the South Sudan intellectuals group.
Mr. Achiek said the duo who are signatories to the declaration, Rajab Mohandis, civil society activist and researcher Abraham Awolich, are being hunted down by the security operatives in Juba, adding that The Sudd Institute to which Abraham Awolich is its Managing Director, was closed down this morning by the National Security Service.
