Mr. Lokai previously served as Chairman of SPLM Party in Kapoeta North County, served as Commissioner of Kapoeta North County and later became Local Government Minister in Eastern Equatoria State. SPLM/A-IO insiders think Lokai comes with huge grassroots support.
In a similar but different development, SPLM/A-IO is hit by another defection. Members of the SPLM/A-IO who defected Khartoum to re-join SPLM-in Government (SPLM-IG) under President Salva Kiir include Hon. Sabit Magok, Rita Thomas, Hon. Gatjang Biliu, John Matip Gatluok, Gen. George Ruony Kot, Thomas Wijial chop and  Susan Peter Machar.
They were received in Juba International Airport by Presidential press secretary Ateny Wek Ateny.
