December 1st 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Fierce fighting between South Sudan army and a group of armed civilians in the country’s Tonj state has killed around fourteen (14) people and left several wounded.

A civilian source in Tonj told the Nyamilepedia on Sunday that the fighting erupted on Friday and continued to Saturday in an area south of Nabagok County when the army decided to disarm civilians.

The fighting started on Friday between the SPLA when they tried to disarm civilians in Nabagok County in an area south of the county,” the civilian source said.

“The fighting resulted in the death of 12 soldiers and two civilians. The fighting has subsidized but the situation is unpredictable,” he added.
