Fierce fighting break out between Nuer IDPs in Juba

August 14th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – Fierce fighting broke out between South Sudan internally displaced person in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan camp in the nation’s capital Juba on Monday, several sources told the Nyamilepedia.

The fighting, one source told the Nyamilepedia, started yesterday, Monday between the Nuer clans of Bul and the Leek who are living in the United Nations manned Protection of Civilian Sites (PoCs).

“The fighting started yesterday between Leek Community and the Bul Community. It was a very bad fighting a some lives were lost in the process,” the source told the Nyamilepedia.

The fighting objectives were unclear as Nyamilepedia faced difficulty in accessing the situation as much as needed but several sources who has the knowledge of the cause for the fighting refused to comment to avoid intensification of the fighting.

Another source told the Nyamilepedia that at least four people has been killed but the same source hinted at the increase in the death cases as the fate of seriously injured people remain of speculation.

“The number of the people killed is four people from both sides but the deaths may increase because there are some seriously injured people who may not survive the wounds caused by the fighting,” said the source.

A third source however told the Nyamilepedia that fighting has been halted and the N4, a law enforcement community agency, has put measures in place against those who will attack the other side after the fighting clans has been separated.
