The incident, according to a statement issued by the peace monitoring body, took place at Luri, a Juba suburb hosting the training camp for the tribal militia, Mathiang Anyor which was accused of caring out the 2013 Juba Massacre.

According to the statement extended to the Nyamilepedia, peace monitors including a female officer were detained by the army. The female colonel from the Ethiopian army was forced to walk naked by SSPDF soldiers during the detention.

The Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring and Verification Mechanism (CTSAMVM) said in the statement that it condemns the attack which took place on Tuesday saying it has launched an investigation into the incident.

“CTSAMVM condemns in the strongest terms the appalling attack that took place on 18 December 2018 on its Monitoring and Verification Team in the Luri Area. CTSAMVM has launched a full investigation into the events,” the statement issued on Wednesday partly read.

The statement further urged the government to launch its own investigation to hold accountable those found guilty for the incident.

“CTSAMVM further demands that TGoNU immediately conduct an investigation holding perpetrators accountable for these despicable acts and their chain of command responsible for its utter failure of leadership,” further said the statement.
