Ex-Sudanese first vice-president Bakri Hassan Saleh to be arrested in connection to 1989 coup

November 24th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Former Sudanese First Vice President Bakri Hassan Saleh is set to be arrested in connection to 1989 military coup which brought to power former President Omar Hassan Ahmed al-Bashir, a spokesman for Forces for Freedom and Change (FFC) has said.

Lawyer Wajdi Saleh, the official spokesman of the Forces for Freedom and Change (FFC) confirmed the filing of communications against all those who participated in 1989 military coup.

In an interview with (Akhir Lahza) newspaper, Wajdi Saleh said that the former First Vice President, Bakri Hassan Saleh, will be arrested after the interrogation of those in Kober prison.

Al-Bashir who is currently in prison has been charged in connection to 1989 military coup. He is set to be indicted in December as part of ongoing trial on money laundering and illegal possession of foreign currencies.
