November 9th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Former member of SPLM-FDs who resigned as the group’s representative to the Independent Boundaries Commission (IBC) after she was recalled over her decision to vote for ten state has joined the country’s main armed opposition group SPLM-IO.

Nyenagwek Kuol who was a state minister of information in the defunct Warrap state confirmed to Nyamilepedia on Friday that she joined the main armed opposition group.

In September, Kuol proposed a join economic zone between Sudan and South Sudan in the disputed area of Abyei. Some criticized then proposal but Abyei intellectuals such as Luka Biong said the proposal was good and could work if implemented by the governments of Sudan and South Sudan.

South Sudan descended into civil war in December 2013 after a dispute within the ruling party SPLM triggered a split in the army.

A peace agreement signed in 2015 collapsed the year after and a revitalized version of that agreement was signed last year but a unity government formation has been rescheduled several time.
