April 17th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – The European Union Commmission on Monday threatens to apply punitive measures against those violating peace in South Sudan.
The Council concluded on Monday that the year 2018 is a critical year for securing peace in South Sudan as clock tick towards the end of the Transitional Government of National Unity (TGoNU).
“While the ARCSS remains the basis for the process, the discussions must reflect the reality on the ground,” The Council said in a statement sent to the media.
The Council reaffirmed the EU’s deep concern over the continued fighting and grave human rights violations that have inflicted horrific levels of human suffering and left the country in ruins.
The EU urged all parties to the conflict to put forth the interest of their people above political interests and sit to solve their political differences on the basis of peaceful mechanism rather than through bullets. The council further urged all parties to the South Sudan’s conflict to immediately cease fighting and participate in the peace process in good faith without the practice of intransigence.
The General Secretariat of the Council is a body of staff that assists the European Union (EU) which is a political and economic union that is made up of 28 European states that was formed on January 1st 1958 to ensure the free movement of people, goods, services, and capital within the internal market in Europe as well as enacting legislations in justice and home affairs and maintain common policies on trade, agriculture, fisheries and regional control
South Sudan, world’s youngest country, has been mired in conflict between the government of President Salva Kiir and rebels led by the country’s former First Vice President Riek Machar since December 2013. Ten of thousands of people has been killed in the conflict and two millions of the South Sudan’s 12 million population has been displaced internally and another million has been displaced to neighboring countries.
In April 2016, South Sudan’s rebel leader Riek Machar returned to the nation’s capital after peace deal known as the ARCSS provided for his return in hope to bring peace to the young African nation. However, peace collapsed in the nation’s capital after government troops fought a lengthy and bloody battle with Machar’s guards at the Presidential palace in the nation’s capital.

Yes, dear ones, make your promise a real one so that South Sudanese leaders would learn from it. It wouldn’t be true until you act on it, the violation went beyond warning. Just to warn them wouldn’t sustain any situation as matter of fact, they are even speeding up the crisis. it get worse and worst but adding your voice to it would mean to neutralize the situation though concrete action is needed. Our words would be emptied if what we Just do is saying it without following it up with action. You people who are in lead your words matter most to adjust the situation to the right position. But for most of us those who have no means of power to articulate in a meaningful way to normalize the matter, will just be saying with no much be paid on by the parties.
