November 23,2021—The Ethiopian government under the Prime Minister, Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali, has welcomed the Power-sharing agreement signed recently by the Sudanese military junta and civilian leaders.
This comes after military component led by the head of Sudanese military, Lt. Gen Abdel Fattah al-Burhan accepted to reinstate Dr. Abdalla Hamdok as country’s prime minister with all his powers to form a civilian cabinet and by also reaffirming his full commitment to the constitutional declaration signed last year by all political forces in the country.
In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia, the federal government of Ethiopia applauds the consensus between two conflicting parties in Sudan and welcomes their Power-sharing accord between civilian and military components.
“The reinstatement of Mr. Abdalla Hamdok as prime minister of Sudan and his empowerment to form his cabinet is commendable”, the statement reads
According to the statement, the government of Ethiopia also appreciates the reinstatement of all institutions of the transitional period and the affirmation to make the constitutional declaration the legitimate governance document.
The government of Ethiopia hopes that the new power-sharing agreement between the President and Prime minister would bring peace and stability in Sudan in particular and to the region in general.
On 25th of October 2021, the military component of the Sudanese Transitional government overthrown the civilian-military shared authority, arrested the Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok, dissolved the transitional government and declared a state of emergency in the country; however, the military leadership compromised to reverse some of their decisions and is trying to normalize tension.
On the other hand, Dr. Abiy Ahmed is in a bitter civil war with the Tigray government, which seems to be gaining momentum; however, Dr. Abiy has refused to compromised and threatens to move to the battle fields to fight the war himself.
Abiy is mobilizing patriotic citizens to join him at the frontline to die or survive as “heroes” of his country.
“This is the time when we need to lead a country with sacrifice. From now on, I will move to the battle field to lead the defense force in front of tomorrow. Those of you who want to be one of the Ethiopian children whom history admires, stand up today for the sake of your country. Let’s meet at the front.” Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed declared YESTERDAY, according to Ethiopia’s state broadcaster.
