Mar 20th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan government said Ethiopia has its own problems to solve rather than hosting South Sudan’s warring parties to solve their problems. This come after the IGAD mediation is set to discuss South Sudan’s civil war next week.
According to the South Sudanese’s information minister Michael Makuei Leuth, the government “want the venue of our peace talks to be changed because we don’t want our peace talks to be suspended because of the problems in Ethiopia” he told Radio Tamazuj on Monday.
Makuei proposed that “The talks can be hosted either by Djibouti or Kenya and Uganda, but Somalia, Sudan and South Sudan are out of question.”
He said “As you know very well that the issue of Ethiopia’s Prime Minister who is also the chairperson of IGAD has not yet been solved.”
In February, the IGAD suspended the peace talks after the opposition and the government failed to reach a deal over issues regarding the governance and security arrangement. Government also refused to sign provision which would see ceasefire violators prosecuted.
Peace talks is expected to take place in late March between the government and the Oppositions’ coalition.

Yes, that may make sense however if there is any concern raised it would have been the host country herself who would come up with the suggestion since the negotiating result is on their hand. I would say South Sudan should be concerned at the moment at least if they
think the Ethiopian issue would influence the outcome of talk. If they think they can handle it then it is their best attempt to do so. Any objection will be seen as opposition to the solution. Somehow if the prime minister still the head chair of the negotiation yes, it would have an effect but he has already handed it to someone else. So there is no much influence right there on his side. Should people make contradictory remark that will be another attempt of disruption.
Ethiopia by itself is not better than South Sudan In terms of securing peace and stability. Ethiopia as international community knows better is not democratic country. It is country led by so called democratically elected gov.t yet the truth is the EPRDF Gov.t is state terrorist who terrorize it`s own nation, who displace it`s own nation in millions, who killed/tortured its own citizen by using the corrupted and unconstitutional defense and security system…..The minority gov.t of Ethiopia by no means can not be the source of peace and stability in horn of Africa but the source of Terror especially in Somalia and South Sudan…….we the people of Ethiopia are paying the irreplaceable souls of millions to gain our freedom from black colonialist state of TPLF……………………….South Sudan should not acknowledge the gov.t Ethiopia for it`s pseudo diplomatic warfare
