May 29, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —– South Sudan’s Emmanuel Jieng(Dinka) Parish, which witnessed violent yesterday, has called on the congregation to forgive a group of non-congregants who incited violence in the Church on May 29, 2016.
According to Solomon Manyang Jok, the Secretary of Parish Church Council, Emmanuel Jieng church administration took an initiative of Christian love and forgiveness by sending a delegation to plead with the security organs to release the raw-group led by a self-proclaimed journalist Mading Ngor.
“The government’s law enforcement intervened and apprehended and they are now under custody. The church administration took an initiative of Christian love and forgiveness by sending a delegation to plead with the security organs to release them.” Solomon said.
Solomon reiterates that the church regrets the chaos initiated by the group, however, the church chose to follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ and opted to forgive not to punish the wrongdoing by non-congrats who stormed their service on Sunday.
“In the Gospel according to St. John 17:11, Jesus prayed that ‘’ Father! Keep them safe by the power of your name, the name you gave me so that they may be one just as you and I are one’’.” Solomon quotes the bible.

Solomon also said the Parish Priest, Rev. Joseph Maker Achiek, who resigned on Sunday has been called upon by the Church Council to withdraw his decision to resign and he did.
“As a result of the raw, the Parish Priest, Rev. Joseph Maker Achiek was emotionally moved and uttered his resignation, which the Council termed as slippery of tongue. Based on this, the Church Council called the Parish Priest immediately to withdraw his statement, which he did.” Solomon said.
“We as a church do urge our members and the community at large to remain calm and shown away from this barbaric act of this group and click into the spirit of love, harmony and unity as children of God.” he continued.
The self-styled journalist, Mading Ngor, has written a letter to Emmanuel Jieng Parish after his arrest on May 29 to explain himself.
In his letter, Mading accused Riek Machar of rapes and killing of elderly women in Bor town in 1991 and 2013, and he believes that a Dinka Church should not welcome “the great butcher” of his people to their service.
On his social media Mading has been inciting his followers to boycott Emmanuel Parish for welcoming Dr. Riek Machar.
“Good, the consensus finally is to boycott Emmanuel Parish! Even interesting, folks have been going after the collaborator priest, the host of the great butcher!” Mading wrote on May 24.
The journalist has been on the hard side of history for the last few years which saw him arrested severally and forced to flee the country.
Mading is known for advocating against South Sudan independent in favor of unity and for running a controversial radio station that was forcefully shutdown by Salva Kiir government in 2012.
On a transition, Mading currently runs a comedy show called “Dolku” in Dinka in Juba while trying to cooperate with the authority as much as he can; a new trade that has narrowed his relationship with Garang’s family, his former hero.
“In 2011, the unholy alliance between Rebecca Nyandeng, her son Mabior and Riek Machar was cemented by a fake apology from Riek Machar. In 2013, Bor massacre was repeated. In 2016, the same elements have now tried to water the tree of their unity by bringing Riek to Emmanuel Jieng Parish to sell his arrogance to our people” Mading strikes on facebook on May 24th.
