Sept 2, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —– A concerned South Sudanese elder, Dr. Wesley Bokati Natana Abraham, calls on South Sudanese warring parties and Salva Kiir government to reopen networks, roads and telephone communication for the people of Greater Mundri County, Western Equatoria State.
Networks leading to Greater Mundri, a county that has experienced insecurity for the past two years, were disconnected last month as war intensifies in the area following the July 8th resumption of conflict in Juba.
According to Dr. Wesley, a former diplomat of the United Nations, telephone communication and road transport in and out of many parts of greater Mundri were cut off by the government.

“For the past one month, telephone communication with the people in Greater Mundri Counties has been cut off. Road transport in and out of many parts of Greater Mundri Counties has also been cut off.” Dr. Wesley said.
“At the moment, the rights of our people to move freely communicate and share information with each other and other people outside Greater Mundri Counties has been tempered with. This is a serious violation of human rights.” he continued.
Dr. Wesley appeals to Salva Kiir’s government to restore communication with people of Greater Mundri Counties.
As a result of recent fighting in Juba, the warring parties moved the dogfight from Juba to areas in Central, Western and Eastern Equatoria states.
For nearly 2 months, heavy fighting has continued in Yei River county, Greater Mundri, Lafon and along major roads leading to Juba.
