Egypt’s envoy in Juba “told” by S. Sudan Amb. in Egypt that claims of organ trade is baseless

June 28th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The Egyptian ambassador to South Sudan,  Ahmed Bahauddin, said on Wednesday that South Sudan’s ambassador to Egypt told him that claims by South Sudanese community in Cairo that there is a organ trade trade targeting them is baseless, according to a report by Radio Tamazuj quoting him.

Early this month,  South Sudanese community members in Egypt reported organ trade by unknown traffickers targeting them saying the Egyptian government was not protecting them.

Bahaudin who commended historical relations binding Egyptians and South Sudanese, said after he heard about the organ trafficking claims, he contacted South Sudan ambassador in Cairo but was told that those claims are baseless.

He said they haven’t so far received any complaint from South Sudanese authorities including those in Cairo and foreign ministry.

”We have not received any complaint officiall,” he said.

“I am in contact always with the South Sudanese ambassador to Egypt, and he told me that the complaints are baseless,” he added.
