December 2nd 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – A delegation from the Egyptian House of Representatives arrived in South Sudan’s capital Juba on Monday in an official visit that aims at fostering relations between the two countries, the Al-Ahram reported
The Egyptian delegation, headed by the speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel-Aal, was received upon arrival at Juba International by South Sudan’s acting speaker of Parliament Timothy Tut as well as a number of South Sudan government officials.
According to Abdel Aal, the visit to the world’s youngest nation represents a bridge between the peoples of Egypt and South Sudan, and is an affirmation of the solid relations between the two countries.
The visit is a demonstration of Egypt’s support of South Sudan in its efforts to achieve peace and stability, especially after the 2018 ‘Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan’ brokered by neighboring countries, he added.
The visit is set to include a number of activities including meetings with South Sudan’s minister of agriculture and food security, South Sudan’s acting parliament speaker, as well as other senior South Sudanese officials to discuss enhancing relations between the two countries and to exchange views on issues of common interest.
