August 4th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The Egyptian government has announced in a statement that it has sent a medical aid to South Sudan to help efforts in providing medical care to its citizens.
The delivery was carried out by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) which said it was in support to the recovering medical sector of the world’s youngest nation.
“The shipment comes as part of supporting the health sector in the brotherly country,” a Saturday statement from the Egyptian foreign ministry read.
The huge medical shipment came less than a year after a first medical delivery from the North African country in October 2018.
South Sudan descended into a bloody civil war in December 2013 following a dispute a national convention for the ruling Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM).
The war has killed thousands and displaced millions from home according to international aide organizations.
Egyptian Ambassador to Juba, Ahmed al-Din, said the delivery will boast the relations between Egypt and the eats African country.
“Sending aid shipments to South Sudan reflects Egypt’s firm belief in the historical bonds and shared destinies of the peoples of both countries,” he said.
